What is Water Sensitive Urban Design?
A way of integrating the water cycle with the built environment for good planning.
Boral No Fines Concrete is made without fine aggregate so that it has high permeability and drainage capacity. When placed correctly, the permeable concrete absorbs rainwater and facilitates natural runoff into the ground or storage tanks. The benefits of using this concrete is that it can minimise saturation of the storm water network, reducing the risk of flooding in heavy rain events. The permeability reduces water ponding and provides a filter medium for stormwater run-off. All Boral concrete mixes are designed to comply with AS1379 – Specification and supply of concrete.
