HydroCERA is a paver that is permeable across the full face and body of the paver. Water is filtered through the surface and further filtering takes place as water moves through the body of the paver into the bedding and base course layers where it is temporarily detained prior to discharge.

One of the major benefits of using HydroCERA pavers is that they deliver lower pavement temperatures and they reduce extreme heat build up in urban areas.

HydroCERA is installed in the same way as traditional pavements. The design of the pavement substructure is similar to that specified for HydroSTON and other permeable concrete pavements where the design depends on loading. Regular removal of surface debris will maintain HydroCERA performance and when necessary the pavers can be cleaned with water, suction and sweeping equipment.

The kiln fired and dried permeable ceramic tile product is manufactured from recycled ceramic tiles, oxide pigment and bentonite clay binding agent. The recycled material is ceramic waste sourced mainly from ceramic tile products, which contain no hazardous substances and is harmless to human health and the environment. The bentonite clays are a group of fine textured non-toxic naturally occurring minerals associated with volcanic deposition or in sedimentary deposits, which are used in a wide variety of applications.
